Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) – Events
The Caravan Industry Victoria (CIV) is committed to the health, safety and welfare of its workers, contractors and others affected by its undertakings and the protection of the environment and the prevention of pollution.
The CIV has a Workplace Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) and supporting policies procedures, forms, records, risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements which are designed to eliminate or minimise the impact of workplace and environmental risks and to protect the public during all phases of the event.
All exhibitors/contractors are to ensure they follow their own safety procedures at all times whilst working at Association shows.
The CIV OH&S commitment is based on the following principles:
•All incidents are preventable.
•We value our people and the environment.
•Management is accountable for but everyone is responsible.
•Management and Worker involvement is critical.
•Compliance is a minimum requirement.
•Assessment is to be based on facts and data.
•Work that is unsafe or impacts on the environment will not be done.
The objectives of our OH&S system are:
•To identify, assess and control all workplace health and safety risks to people affected by our undertakings.
•To provide effective and meaningful consultation with workers regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
•To provide adequate information, training, instruction and supervision to all workers and contractors to ensure work is conducted in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
•To achieve zero injuries and environmental impacts.
All exhibitors, contractors and their employees must complete this simple OH&S induction before working at our show. It is important to note that if, a safety induction is not completed then access to the site will be denied. Each exhibitor, contractors and their staff must produce evidence of successfully completing the induction for entry into the show.
